INTAL

The Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL) is a division of the Integration and Commerce sector of the Vice Presidency of Sectors and Knowledge (VPS/INT) of the IABD. INTAL, founded in 1965, generates and distributes knowledge regarding the advantages of integration processes, commercial dynamics in the region and the impact of new technologies on commercial strategies and integration mechanisms.

In 2000, INTAL was inscribed in the IIRSA´s Registry of the Technical Coordination Committee (CCT), within the framework of UNASUR, and joined the regional efforts for physical integration. INTAL-LAB drives innovative ideas and the co-creation of projects which strengthen the ties between Latin Americans and Caribbeans. INTAL’s work program focuses on the following areas:

- Supporting regional cooperation and programming

- Supporting physical integration processes

- Institutional training and empowerment

- Supporting the creation and distribution of knowledge

- Supporting the innovations which facilitate integration and trade. INTAL plays an active role in assisting the governments of IADB member countries as part of the bank's strategy.
